trunks up! (thrift)

an elephants trunk raised up is a symbol of good luck, fortune, and basic optimism. in thailand it is the elephant that is considered good luck, regardless of the trunk position.

do you ever find something on the thrift racks that is so fantastic that you wonder who in the world would have given it up? that was the thought that hit me when i found my new elephant sweater. it's knee length so it looks amazing with jeggings, super cozy, makes me smile and, apparently, will bring good luck.

plus, now i know i'm set for all ugly sweater and hipster dress parties invites that may come.

my mum is the queen of superstitions and has a house filled with trunks up elephants so when i saw this on the rack i grabbed it and then we laughed. out loud. like crazy women laughing at an elephant sweater.

It's the kind of thing that me and my Mum would laugh about in the store. There's a craft store over in MK (about 30 miles from where we live in Bedford) and it's always an event when we go together (like put in the diary two weeks in advance or something) and I always come home with sore sides from laughing too hard and an exploding heart full of love.
