thrift- gimme some sugar

at first it was a sugar bowl.
then it's little creamer mate got broken.  so sad.
now it lives with me on my bedside table holding my bobby pins and chap stick and things that tend to wind up on ones bedside table.

i am such a sucker for a little sob story.

THRIFT TIP: always try to look past what something is and instead imagine what it could be.

thank you! just a perfect size to corral and hide all the misc.
I agree that items have lots more potential than people realise - who says a jug has to be sat in a kitchen cupboard when it can hold spare candle instead?. I have a Stella Artois ashtray next to Al's bed for all his bits of 'crap'. I don't smoke, but I just had to have the ashtray as it looked very retro. So I stole it from the pub I was in on holiday (this was about 15 years ago). Yep I'm a thief. But I think the ashtray still looks cool and retro so it was totally worth it. Anyway, I was helping the pub owner out, as little did he know that smoking in public places would be banned a few years later and his ashtrays would no longer be needed. That is my excuse anyway!

i have the exact same story about an ashtray i "liberated" from a pizza parlour we stopped at on our way to a friends cottage where there were no smokers. it glowed in the dark so it was just perfect for a outdoor picnic table where we played cards and such.
Such a pretty little dish!
